Feel the softness and whiteness.

During the workshop, you will feel the softness of porcelain, its smooth texture, and immerse yourselves in this white mass, the most delicate yet hardest of all clays.

We will discuss the properties of porcelain—brittleness, deformation, transparency. How porcelain differs from stoneware, what to watch out for, what not to do, and what to do instead.

You will learn which porcelain is suitable for throwing and which is not. When not to undercut a piece to remove it from the wheel, and how to do it then. How to prevent collapsing during throwing and cracking during drying.

You will give your works their final shape during the trimming session. On the second day of the workshop, you will finish—trim—the dried pieces. Various trimming tools, blades, scrapers, and rib tools will be available. This will allow for beautifully finished bottoms and feet, and perhaps someone will be tempted to add grooves or patterns to their work.

Your works belong to you. Three selected pieces will be fired and glazed with transparent glaze. If you would like to add some color or brush-on patterns to your works, come to the glazing workshop, which takes place once a month.
