White gold on board! A porcelain throwing session

Feel this softness and whiteness.

During the class, you will feel the softness of porcelain, its smooth texture, and immerse yourself in this white mass, the most delicate yet hardest of all clays.

We will discuss the properties of porcelain – its fragility, deformation, and transparency. How porcelain differs from stoneware, what to watch out for, what not to do, and what to do instead.

You will learn which porcelain to throw with and which cannot be thrown. When not to trim a piece to remove it from the wheel, and how to do it then. How to prevent slumping during throwing and cracking during drying.

Your work belongs to you. Three selected pieces will be fired and glazed with transparent glaze. If you would like to add some color to your work or brush on designs, come to our glazing class, which takes place once a month.
